Over the past few months, we have been taking meeting after meeting with mainstream artists, record labels, and publishers. This update will introduce some significant changes to the platform, some we think you’ll love… others we look forward to hearing your feedback on. We’re incredibly excited about the major update to Pretzel that will be rolling out on August 1st. The easiest way to do this is by logging into the Pretzel website using Mixer, then connecting your Twitch account.Ĭonnections Settings on Upcoming Changes to Pretzel Rocksįor the first half of 2020, the team has been working diligently to fortify our licensing legal and work with rightsholders of all sizes to get their music cleared for use on live streaming platforms. So to keep your Pretzel account intact, you need to log into Pretzel using a different service provider. On July 22nd, logging into Pretzel using Mixer will no longer work. ![]() With Mixer shutting down, we have had quite a few users ask what will happen to their Pretzel account. I have been using my experience of 20 years in the music industry to help manage music curation and General A&R to make sure Pretzel gets the best music it possibly can to the ears of every broadcaster that gives us a try. I was on board ever since and have been helping him make Pretzel a reality for the past 3 years. I met Nate through Ninety9lives where he pitched me the idea of Pretzel. Made Monster toured nationally and internationally and had charting records across prominent labels like Spinnin, Ninety9Lives, Buygore, and Atlantic Records. In 2013 I teamed up with a very talented DJ/Producer out of LA named Chris Roberts and we formed the music group, Made Monster. I won Houston Press Best DJ 4 years in a row and then Houston Press Best Producer. I found myself in Houston in 2002 where I started my professional career as a touring DJ and music producer. Music was always my first love, however, and it quickly stole me away from the sky and landed me in the studio. I started my career path as a commercial pilot with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. This is Ryan - He puts the rocks in Pretzel Rocks ![]() I love learning about things, but what keeps me going is being able to help others and connect them to solutions that work for them. While my journey to Pretzel has been quite the adventure, I am so excited to be a part of this team and to help content creators access incredible music that is safe for their streams. Most recently though, I have my time on Twitch as a moderator for a number of channels, including 7 partnered channels, and as the Communications and Operations manager for StreamerSquare. I’ve primarily been a writer and designer, but I have also worked in radio, as a magazine editorial assistant, stage manager, merchandise manager for a 30+ piece circus punk rock marching band, bartender at a saloon in a thrill park, help run a biological imaging facility at a Research 1 university, was a director of a design school, and an archaeological intern at revolutionary war dig site. I have a bachelors in Communication, Writing, and Religion, and am in the process of finishing a masters in Cultural & Digital Anthropology. I’m Rini and I’ve worn a lot of hats over the years. The PretzelAux Team Nate Beck - CEO & Tech - Twitter So without further ado, let’s introduce the PretzelAux team. The main reason for this separation of companies was so that we could issue stock as a C-Corporation and take on investment into the company. Pretzel Tech LLC (doing business as Ninety9Lives) continues to exist and thrive with Heather and the helm. This separated Ninety9Lives (our record label) and the Pretzel Rocks streaming platform back into two distinct companies. In January of 2020, we moved Pretzel Rocks, its IP, and all of its assets into a new company called PretzelAux, Inc. We decided to combine forces and in October of 2019, I left my job to work on Pretzel full time, and Tom stepped away from OWSLA to focus on Pretzel. At TwitchCon 2019, I met Tom who was working with OWSLA at the time on a project similar to Pretzel called Aux.
